THE DIMENSIONS OF GOD’S LOVE

For the past couple weeks we have been speaking from EPHESIANS 3 about Comprehending The Incomprehensible, i. e. The Dimensions Of God’s Love. Like an old song says, “It’s so high, you can’t get over it; so deep, you can’t get under it, so wide, you can’t get around it…..” I would like to add that it’s so long, you can’t get past it.

The width of God’s love is past our imagination in its expression, with statements from the Bible that say things like, “For God so loved the world that He…” or that He is “not willing that any should perish…..” as well as the promise to remove our sins from us “……as far as the east is from the west.”                              PSALM 103:12    JOHN 3:16    2 PETER 3:9

In order to measure any distance, one must have a starting place and an ending. Therefore to grasp at understanding the length of God’s love can blow our minds with its beginning at the dawn of time before the creation and its continuing through the blessing of His people in the ages to come.                                              EPHESIANS 1:3-4; 2:4-9

Any futile attempt to measure the depth of Divine love has to begin in Heaven from where the Word of God humbled Himself and came down to earth to become flesh for us, living a fully human life in difficult circumstances. Going deeper still to express His love, the Son of God gave up His humbled life, taking the place of a criminal, going through torture, execution and into the grave for us. Meditating on how deep this kind of love is can lead to our amazement because it really is measureless.                         PHILIPPIANS 2:5-8

The height of His love begins from Christ’s burial and continues through His resurrection and ascension; up all the way to Heaven and His position of authority, where He received the name that is above every name and where we are seated with Him in Heavenly places. The love of the Most High is higher than humanity’s sin and nothing can separate us from it.
LUKE 6:35    ROMANS 8:38-39    EPHESIANS 1:19-21    PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11

He loves them so much that He gave His only Son so that if they would believe Him He would save them. This is the call of every true believer and every local church, to let the whole world know of Divine Love. Let’s go for it!

How about you? Do you know that God loves you?

Do you live like He loves you? Are you His beloved?

Is it easy for you to live in light of this truth?

If we are His beloved, then we should be loved.
Come on beloved, let’s be loved.

Talking about God’s love for us like this may seem shallow but actually its deeper that any of us can begin to imagine. Thinking along these lines is encouraged by verses like;

2 CORINTHIANS 13:14

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

2 THESSALONIANS 3:5
Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God
and into the patience of Christ.

JUDE 20-21
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith,
praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

God’s love for you is expressed throughout the Holy Scriptures. Do not be short-changed and duped by thinking that you have to earn His love. It’s free for all who will believe in Jesus Christ and everything He has to say.

JOHN 3:16-19

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might be saved.
18) "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not
believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

This love is not for sale - has never been for sale - to anyone.

To receive His amazing love simply begins with the realization that you have been separated from God and His love by your sins and that He loved you enough to have already made a way to be forgiven of all that has separated you from Him and His love.

1 JOHN 4:9-10,19

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent
His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us
and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
19) We love Him because He first loved us.

I wish this sin sick world and every rebellious life would hear and believe the Truth that God loves them.
