She said yes to his proposal
Such a young couple, this girl and boy
Gave themselves to God’s disposal
From the cornfields of Illinois
To the peach trees of Georgia
The glorious gospel they have noised
In cities, towns, and suburbia
This man named Sam - this wife named Joyce
Through serving and preaching were as one voice
Impacting nations and churches and leaders
Disarming powers, exposing deceivers
During sixty-past years, three score to now
Thousands did hear of salvation's how
Husband and woman so faithful to go
For Christ and His Kingdom, to reap and to sow
Navajo, Indian, and Hottentot
Rich, poor, vagabond, and big shot
They all heard the truth of Jesus Christ
And His narrow way to eternal life
Oh what a difference six decades can make
When these two agree, the demons must shake
With courage they’ve gone, with wisdom they’ve built
And yet they’re still going, lives spent but not spilt
Four children they raised, three sons and a daughter
Their parents are praised, whom this day they honor
Happy spouses so blessed, like you we need more
You know we’re impressed, 60 years what a score!
